Dr.Ümit Özgüner, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University, Ohio, USA, joined the visiting faculty of the Future Value Creation Research Center of the Graduate School of Informatics, Nagoya University, for a month on May-June, 2018 as Designated Professor – based on the data research exchange program agreed by Nagoya University and the Ohio State University on March last year.
He gave a talk, titled “Intelligent Vehicle Research at Ohio State University” on May 30th.
He introduced the history of intelligent vehicle research at the University since the 1960s, and gave perspectives of autonomous driving technology including V2X and collaborative systems.
Associate Professor, Eijiro Takeuchi and Associate Professor, Luis Yoichi Morales also gave a talk on “Intelligent Vehicle Research at Nagoya University” prior to Dr. Özgüner’s talk, and we had active technical discussions after their talks.
